Jarry Hayne on Attack for Paramatta Eels

The Paramatta Eels were left second guessing when the Jarryd Hayne rape allegations unfolded yesterday.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that the club which has thrown Hayne a lifeline next season was blindsided.

The report says despite numerous attempts throughout the day, no club officials could reach him.

It says Hayne flew out of Sydney on Tuesday night to return to Israel where he visited the holy city of Jerusalem earlier this month.

Hayne will start training with the Eels on the 3rd of next month.

He has strongly denied sexually assaulting a woman in 2015 during his time at the San Francisco 49ers after a civil suit was filed against him.

A statement Hayne put out through his lawyers says he  has not been served with any proceedings or formal complaint relating to the incident.

The civil suit, lodged in the Santa Clara County court alleges the rugby league star engaged in non‑consensual sexual intercourse with a woman in December 2015.

According to the documents, the suit is an action for sexual battery, gender violence, infliction of emotional distress and negligence.
