Naidau performs for Jasper Williams High School at Lautoka Zone

Jasper Williams High School athletics captain Mereseini Naidau said they are trying out a different tactic in the Lautoka Zone meet as they prepare for the Coca Cola Games.

Naidau who won gold in the 3,000m and 1,500m events last year in the Coca Cola Games has shifted her focus to other events.

Naidau said the coaches have asked her to try out the 400m, 800m and 4x400m in the lead up to the Coke Games.

Naidau won gold in her 400m event today and will compete in the 800m and 4x400m tomorrow.

Looking at the Medal Tally, Jasper leads day one with 16 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze while Natabua High School is in second place with 3 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze.

In the boys division Natabua leads with 20 gold, 10 silver and 4 bronze while Saint Thomas High School is in second place with 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.

The Lautoka Zone continues tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Nadi Muslim College leads day one of the Nadi Zone with 10 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze.

Korovuto College is in second place with 8 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze.

In the Triple N Zone, ACS finished with 38 gold, 24 silver and 4 gold, Sila Central finished second with 2 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze while Wainimala Secondary finished in third place with 2 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.

In the boys Division, Lelean Memorial School retained the boys title with 27 gold, 19 silver and 25 bronze, Sila Central finished second with 9 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze while Wainimala Secondary School finished third with 3 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze.
