Liku produces Fiji’s best result ever

Weightlifter Maria Liku has produced Fiji's best result ever in any Olympic Games this morning, coming in 8th in the 63kg category she was competing in.

Speaking from London to Fijivillage, Weightlifting Section Manager, Atma Maharaj said 22 year old Maria's performance is the best ever for a Fijian Olympian and that they are extremely proud of her.

Three Fijian athletes remain to take part at the Games.

Danielle Alakija will be competing in the Women's 400m on Friday at 9pm, then on Sunday at 8pm, Glen Kable is shooting in the Men's Trap qualification.

And then lastly Leslie Copeland takes part in the Men's Javelin next week Thursday morning.
