High jump champion, Diloi shines in the pool during Schools Swimming Championship
Adi Cakobau School’s Yalanieta Diloi continues to prove her versatility after winning gold in the girls' 50 metres breaststroke at the National Schools Age Group Championship.

Diloi, who also claimed gold in the high jump during this year’s Coca-Cola Games, says her latest achievement is dedicated to her family.

The 14-year-old says her family has faced struggles and she wanted to make them proud through her performances in sport.

Diloi says balancing school work with training was her biggest challenge.

She also acknowledged the sacrifices made by her parents and thanked them for their constant support.

A total of 54 schools are competing in this year's Championship at the Damodar Aquatic Centre.

Marist Brothers High School are the defending champions in the boys’ division, while Drasa Avenue School hold the girls’ title.

The competition ends tomorrow.
