South Sydney captain Greg Inglis is set to miss the opening two rounds of the NRL season after turning up 15kg overweight, according to reports.
Days ago, it was confirmed that the 32‑year‑old would miss the Indigenous All Stars exhibition match and South Sydney’s trials because of a flare up of a knee injury.
Souths’ captain has battled his weight previously, turning up at Souths overweight in 2011 after signing from the Melbourne Storm.
There is also a possibility that Inglis would miss the Rabbitohs’ round 1 clash with the Roosters on March 15.
