Big news has hit the Hurricanes camp ahead of their match against the Blues tonight.

Hurricanes captain Brad Shields has been selected to play for England.

He is one of seven uncapped players selected by England coach Eddie Jones for the three‑test tour against South Africa.

New Zealand Rugby says they are not at all pleased about how England Rugby have dealt with the request for Brad Shields' services.

27-year-old Shields rejected a call‑up from the All Blacks last year during New Zealand's northern hemisphere tour in November when Jerome Kaino suffered a season ending injury.

The Blues will host the Hurricanes at 7.35pm tonight.

The Crusaders will take on the Waratahs at 5.15pm tomorrow, Highlanders take on the Lions at 7.35pm and the Brumbies meet the Rebels at 9.45pm tomorrow.

On Sunday, the Stormers face the Chiefs at 1.05am while the Bulls play the Sharks at 3.15am.
