Fiji Boxer Winston Hill has defeated Stephen Newns of Scotland by a unanimous points decision in an entertaining 69kg quarterfinal match at the Commonwealth Games.
Hill had earlier defeated Lyndel Marcellin of Saint Lucia on points in the 69kg Round of 16 match.
Hill will now fight Aidan Walsh of Northern Ireland in the semifinal of the 69kg category at 10.02pm this Friday.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Pearls will face Northern Ireland at 6.02 tonight following their 92-28 defeat to South Africa last night.
Team Fiji’s Alissa Dean and Danielle Whiteside will face Jamaica in Round 32 of the Badminton Women’s Doubles at 11am today.
