Some of the players of the Fiji U18 rugby team.

Fiji Rugby Under 18 coach Josaia Rokomarawa has named a strong side to take on the Australian School Boys in their opening Tri Series clash today.

Rokomarawa has confidence that this set of players has what it takes to cause upsets against the two giants of rugby in the world.

Marist number eight Lemeki Cagialau will captain the team while QVS lose forward Ratu Kinivuai Veitata will start at number 7 and will also be the vice-captain.

Fiji’s forward pack is filled with pace and power which includes Marist prop and hooker Kaliopasi Uluilakepa and Semi Navutu and QVS prop Livai Natave.

Apisalome Bogidrau of RKS and Raikabula Momoedonu of Natabua are the locks, hard hitting RKS flanker Jonacani Rogowale will partner up with Rau Kinivuai at flanker while Cagialau will start at number 8.

Peniasi Ratu of QVS and Fabiano Navabale of Marist are the halves combination while Esala Nalobo of Cuvu College and Timoci Tavatavanawai of QVS are the two wingers.

Laisa Bacau of Nasinu Secondary School and Tira Patterson of Cuvu College are the midfield combination while Sirino Moceilekutu of Marist will start at fullback.

The Fiji Under 18 School Boys will take on the Australian School Boys at 1.30pm today.
