The Vodafone Fiji Soccer team beat Solomon Islands 1 0 in the second match of their International Friendly soccer match yesterday afternoon.

Lautoka defender Kolinio Sivoki scored Fiji’s goal in the 15th minute of the second half.

Both teams were locked nil all at half time.

Fiji displayed good soccer throughout the match as they played more passes that connected and did not kick the ball unnecessarily.

Solomon Islands had an opportunity in the first half to score but goalkeeper Tevita Koroi displayed good goal keeping skills.

Meanwhile, Labasa midfielder Christopher Wasasala was the Man of the Match after producing an outstanding performance.

Wasasala says they performed the way coach Christophe Gamel has taught them.

Coach Christophe Gamel says that he is happy with the players performance.

This was Gamel’s first win as the national soccer team coach after losing two matches to New Zealand and drawing one with Solomons.

Last Thursday both teams played out a 1 all draw in their first match at the ANZ Stadium.
