Argentina to feature five new players for Dubai 7s

Argentina who is pooled with Fiji will have five new players for the Dubai Sevens.

Coach Santiago Gómez Cora says his side is determined to improve on last year’s eighth place finish in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, as they prepare for the big kick off in Dubai.

The five debutants are Renzo Barbier, Joaquín Riera, Santiago Resino, Sebastián Cancelliere and Bautista Ezcurra.

Fiji will meet Canada in their first pool match of the Dubai 7s at 6pm next Friday. 

They will then take on Japan at 9pm next Friday before facing Argentina at 3.28am next Saturday.

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will depart for Dubai this Thursday at 4.30pm.

Argentina’s squad for Dubai: Santiago Alvarez, Renzo Barbier, Sebastian Cancelliere, Rodrigo Etchart, Bautista Ezcurra, Fernando Luna, Axel Muller, Santiago Resino, Gaston Revol, Joaquin Riera, Franco Sabato, German Schulz.
