8 teams qualify for FIFA World Cup knockout stages

Colombia will meet Uruguay in one of the eliminations

Eight teams have qualified so far for the FIFA World Cup knockout stages.

Uruguay will meet Colombia in one of the elimination matches at 8am Sunday while Brazil takes on Chile at 4am.

On Monday at 4am the Netherlands will meet Mexico at 4am followed by Greece and Costa Rica at 8am.

16 teams will be part of the eliminations where the eight winners will go through to the quarterfinals.

Tomorrow at 4am Nigeria face Argentina, Bosnia Herzegovina will take on Iran and at 8am Honduras face Switzerland while Ecuador meets France.

Looking at today’s results Greece defeated Ivory Coast 2-1, Colombia beat Japan 4-1 while England drew nil-all with Costa Rica.

Meanwhile Uruguay's star striker Luis Suarez has been accused of biting a player for the third time in his career after an incident with Giorgio Chiellini following their 1-0 win over Italy this morning.
