Trashboom Pacific says the waste has been collected since its trash boom was installed at the site on March 12th.
They say 16 clean-ups have been carried out so far, with each clean-up taking about one and a half hours.
Trashboom Pacific says without the boom, the rubbish could have continued travelling through the waterway.
With the $200 littering fine coming into effect from September 1st, members of the public are being urged to think about where their rubbish ends up and dispose of it responsibly.
The Nakasi project is funded by the Government of Japan through UNIAP, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
Trashboom Pacific says every collection makes a difference and is encouraging people to play their part in reducing litter and keeping Fiji's waterways clean.
