A concerned Nakasi resident claims rubbish is piling up and taking longer to be collected after the Nausori Town Council terminated its contractors and began carrying out the work using their own staff.
Irfaaz Khan says rubbish piling up along the roadside has become an eyesore, and the concerns raised by residents with the relevant authorities appear to be falling on deaf ears.
Khan says they have contacted the Nausori Town Council about the issue but have not received any satisfactory feedback.

He says rubbish is sometimes left on the roadside for long periods, resulting in dogs and cats tearing open rubbish bags and scattering waste.
Khan has also raised concerns about delays in grass cutting, saying residents sometimes have to wait two to three months for the service.
He says residents are then forced to make the extra effort to cut the grass themselves.
Khan says during his recent visit to the Nausori Town Council, he was told council staff were taking time out on Saturdays to cut grass.
He says this is not justified as residents pay rates and expect council services to be provided on time.
