Good news for working mothers who have struggled to find baby sitters for their children as Mark One Apparel opened a first of its kind, Educational Child Care Service Facility today.

Mark One Apparel Managing Director Mark Halabe says the project is an attempt to include mothers who want to work and also have a safe child care facility for their children at their workplace.

Mark One Apparel had earlier gathered statistics that of their 400 women employees, 20 miss work everyday due to childcare responsibilities.

While opening the facility, Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes says access to a high quality child care facility can increase productivity for working parents and employers.

Feakes says he is pleased with Mark One Apparel’s focus on helping women realise their potential and to increase their production in the formal labour market.

The Child Care facility is open to all employees of Mark One Apparel who can pay $5 a day for the Child Care Services whereas others will have to pay $10.

The facility is expected to cater for 40 children between the ages of 3 to 5-years-old.
