Gamers are in shock after a deadly shooting at an EA sports tournament in Florida was livestreamed on Twitch — the most popular platform for gamers to broadcast their play.
Police say the shooter killed two people before taking his own life, but they've declined to comment on his motive.
The shooting took place at a Madden 19 regional qualifier
The game is a big deal — last year, three million players took part in the Madden Championship Series and there'll be $US700,000 up for grabs at the Madden NFL 19 Club Championship — but this particular event was relatively small in scale.
The event was officially sanctioned by Madden publisher EA Sports but it wasn't held by that company.
