Good news for the people of Vanua Levu as the 30 kilometre Buca Bay Road Project is expected to be completed by May this year.

Provincial Administrator Cakaudrove Joseva Rokonai said the Buca Bay Road Project has opened up new economic opportunities for farmers along the area.

He added most of the people living along Buca Bay are farmers and they find it very easy to transport their produce to the Savusavu market and other buyers.

Rokonai said this project is also good for our tourism industry in Savusavu and Vanua Levu as a whole.

Fijivillage visited the project which started in April 2011 and to date 22 kilometres of road is complete and work is underway on the remaining 8 kilometres of road.

Due to adverse weather conditions and lack of material, the project could not be completed in May last year as earlier expected.
