Inspire Pacific founder Ben Morrison is calling on parents to take their roles seriously, saying children and young people today are yearning for quality time with their families.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Morrison believes the root of many issues facing young people is a lack of attention and support.
He says many young people are dealing with challenges such as drug use, school dropouts and unemployment, but without strong support from home, these issues will continue to affect them.
Morrison is urging parents to spend more time with their children so they can better understand the challenges they are facing.

Morrison also highlighted the important role fathers play in the family.
He says, as a man, he places great value on fathers who love their wives and children and are willing to make the necessary sacrifices for their families before anything else.
He believes stronger family relationships will help address many of the issues facing young people today.
Meanwhile, Inspire Pacific will hold a concert at Jittu Settlement in Suva tomorrow aimed at inspiring and empowering young people through gospel music.
The event, known as the "Light Up Jittu Gospel Concert", will feature several well-known local artists and groups, including Ratu, Gibson, Saiva, One Crew and Grace.
Activities for children will begin in the morning, while the gospel concert will run from 4pm to 9pm.
