A joint investigation by the Fiji Police Force and the National Fire Authority is underway to determine the cause of a house fire that claimed the lives of a woman and a child in Laucala Beach yesterday morning. Police have confirmed the victims were a 48-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy, who were trapped inside the house. Officers responded to reports of the fire alongside National Fire Authority personnel, and the bodies were later recovered by the Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
