A man assaulted his wife while travelling towards Suva along Queens Road yesterday.
The couple had passed Namada Village in Sigatoka when the incident occurred.
A witness who was travelling behind the vehicle saw the man got off the vehicle and assaulted his wife.
The vehicle then continued towards Suva before the couple stopped at Votua Village, where they switched seats and the man took over the driving.
The witness had informed the Korolevu Police Post about the incident and Police took action by stopping the couple's vehicle.
The police officer advised the couple that such actions will not be condoned.
The Korolevu Police confirmed that the couple are teachers based in Nausori.
Police have not released further details on the incident.
