The Chamber says Nand was a hardworking member of the community, a devoted father and a successful worker whose death has deeply affected the Nadroga Navosa community.
Chamber President Suresh Naidu says the Chamber strongly condemns the violence and is calling on Police and the prosecution to ensure that all individuals involved are dealt with according to the law.
The Chamber says there should be no partiality, bias or unfair leniency in the handling of the case.
They say violence of this nature affects not only families but also the safety and economic wellbeing of the wider community.
The Chamber says it expects swift, stern and impartial justice through the legal process.
It says it will closely monitor the ongoing legal proceedings and is calling for anyone convicted over Nand’s death and the injuries suffered by his son to receive the maximum sentence provided under the law.
The Chamber says Nand’s death is a tragic loss for his family and the wider community and is urging the relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served.
Meanwhile,38-year-old Nand has died after he was allegedly assaulted by two men in Sigatoka yesterday.
