Tolu Young is first Fijian swimmer to make it to US Open Championships finals

It is history in the making as Tolu Young is the first ever Fijian swimmer to make it to the US Open Championships Men's 50 metres freestyle finals tonight.

Young qualified for tonight's finals in the US Open Championships after being placed 6th in the final line-up.

He also smashed a new personal best from 22.15 to 21.92 seconds.

Young who is from Savusavu also beat US swimming sprint superstar, Caeleb Dressel.

In a social media post, his mother, Morika Hunter has wished Tolu all the best for tonight.

Hunter says she is so proud and thanks the Babale Swim Club, Dolphin Swim Club Fiji, FASANOC, Fiji Swimming, Sun Devil Swimming and Diving for helping Tolu get here.
