South Africa clinched a place in the knockout stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Zimbabwe in Marrakech.
Oswin Appollis scored a late penalty to settle a dramatic Group B contest, with South Africa finishing second behind Egypt, who were held to a goalless draw by Angola earlier in the day.
Zimbabwe ended the group in fourth place and were eliminated.
South Africa will face the runners-up from Group F, Ivory Coast, Cameroon or Mozambique, while Zimbabwe’s wait for a first Afcon knockout appearance continues.
