The Office of the President has received the latest ‘Red Flag’ executive sedan from China, marking another milestone in the strong and enduring partnership between China and Fiji.

President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu reaffirmed that Fiji’s adherence to the One China Policy remains a strong foundation for mutual cooperation and bilateral relations.
He says the diplomatic partnership between Fiji and China has remained resilient, successfully navigating various challenges and uncertainties over the years.
The President further acknowledged China as a key development partner, noting its cooperation with Fiji across major sectors, including health, agriculture, education and infrastructure.
The Head of State highlighted several notable areas of collaboration, including efforts to combat malaria, critical assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the recent refurbishment in 2025 of a wing of the 97-year-old State House by the People’s Republic of China.
The Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of China to Fiji, Wang Yuan says the donation of the vehicle was another symbol of the enduring friendship between China and Fiji.
Wang says a new chapter in bilateral relations for the next fifty years is now opening.

He adds that the Chinese Embassy was honoured to provide full assistance for the refurbishment of part of the North Wing of State House last year, and believes the donation will further support the daily operations of the Office of the President while injecting new vitality into the friendship between the two countries.
