The body that was discovered floating near the Lami Oceania Wesley Church is a police officer from Lami.
Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu confirmed that the 24-year-old police officer was on duty at the Lami Police Station last night.
Tudravu says the circumstances surrounding the young officer’s death are now under investigation.
He says a post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.
Tudravu also conveyed the organisation’s condolences to the officer’s family.
