The Southern Division Taskforce has been deployed to arrest two suspects in connection with an attempted robbery in Tacirua this morning.

A video of a woman throwing stones at a youth to protect her home from thieves is being widely shared on social media.

The post stated that at around 8.05am today, two boys allegedly drove up to their driveway with their faces covered, holding cane knives and pinch bars, in an attempt to steal from the home.

The post also highlighted the number plate of the vehicle as JP 749.

Police say that since receiving the report, they have traced the vehicle to the registered owner, questioned the vehicle owner, and established that the car was issued as a replacement vehicle for a rental car hired by a 33-year-old man residing in Tacirua.

They say the Southern Division Taskforce is now searching for the two suspects.
