Naboro Junior Secondary School has officially opened in Naitasiri, providing greater access to secondary education for students from surrounding rural communities.
The school welcomed its first intake on the opening day of the new school year, starting with 30 Year 9 students and seven teachers.
The official opening was done by the Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro.
The opening means students will no longer need to travel long distances to attend secondary school, easing the burden on families and improving school attendance.
To support the school’s opening, the Ministry of Education provided 30 chairs and desks, while students will also benefit from the $200 Back-to-School Assistance and the eTransport card scheme.
