Navua will be officially declared a town in the early part of the 2026/2027 financial year as part of the government's efforts to support its continued growth and development.
The declaration recognises Navua’s steady progress as an important commercial and administrative centre.
It is expected to strengthen governance, improve urban planning, and enhance the delivery of public services.
The transition will be supported through interim administrative arrangements, the development of a Town Planning Scheme, and Government funding for key infrastructure and services.
This move marks another step in advancing Navua’s development for the benefit of its communities.
