More specialised medical care now available closer to home – PSH

Fijians no longer need to travel abroad to receive complex and specialised medical treatment, as Pacific Specialist Healthcare is now providing a range of services, including cardiac, neuro and spine surgeries, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, plastic surgery, urology and general surgery.

PSH says that for decades, Fijians requiring complex and specialised medical treatment were often forced to seek care overseas, separating families, increasing financial strain and adding emotional stress during already difficult times.

They say that today, PSH Hospitals is helping change that narrative by delivering advanced healthcare services locally in Fiji.

PSH says that through continued investment in modern medical technology, specialist expertise and patient-focused care, PSH Hospitals now offers a wide range of advanced services that were previously unavailable in the country.

PSH Hospitals Founder Parvish Kumar says the hospital’s mission has always been to keep families together while providing international-standard care.

He says no family should have to leave Fiji or be separated from their loved ones to access life-saving treatment.

Kumar says that at PSH Hospitals, the commitment is to offer high-quality medical care locally, so patients can heal with the support of their families during critical moments in their lives.

The hospital says that complex and advanced procedures that once required overseas referral are now being safely performed in Fiji by experienced specialists, supported by modern operating theatres and intensive care units.

PSH says the hospital continues to expand its capabilities across open heart surgery, neurosurgery, urology, orthopaedics, women’s health and general surgery, significantly reducing waiting times and improving access to timely intervention, with financial solutions available.

They add that this comprehensive approach not only saves lives but also reduces the financial burden on families and the national healthcare system.

PSH says supporting this mission is the PSH Foundation, which assists patients who face financial barriers to treatment.

They say that through donor partnerships and community support, the Foundation ensures access to advanced healthcare is guided by need, not means.

They further say that as Fiji’s healthcare system evolves, PSH Hospitals remains at the forefront, demonstrating that advanced medical care no longer requires a boarding pass.

They add that for many families, hope, healing and recovery are now closer to home.
