Kylian Mbappe is on the verge of winning a second FIFA World Cup Golden Boot after scoring twice in France's thrilling 6-4 defeat to England in the third-place play-off.
The two goals took Mbappe's tournament tally to 10, putting him two goals ahead of Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who has one last chance to catch him in tomorrow morning's World Cup final against Spain.
Messi must score twice to draw level with Mbappe and would win the Golden Boot on assists. If he scores once or fails to score, Mbappe will become the first player to win the award twice.
Mbappe also leads the FIFA World Cup all-time scoring chart with 22 goals, one ahead of Messi.
Meanwhile, England's Jude Bellingham is third in the Golden Boot race with seven goals, ahead of Norway's Erling Haaland on assists. England captain Harry Kane and France's Ousmane Dembele are tied on six goals.
Meanwhile, in the FIFA World Cup final, Spain will take on Argentina at 7am tomorrow.
