Mau Primary School

The Education Committee from Mau Village in Namosi has introduced a new initiative as from the beginning of Term 1, children attending Mau Primary School will have extra classes in the village hall.

Turaga ni Koro Paula Kauyaca says they have witnessed that children are often left unsupervised after school hours, which leads to them not completing their homework and other tasks assigned by teachers.

Kauyaca adds that retired teachers in the village are willing to help the children, especially during night classes held in the village hall.

The 57-year-old also says the committee plans to approach current teachers at Mau Primary School to see if they are able to assist after school hours.

He says it’s important for everyone to work together to support the education of their future leaders.
