LTA rejects claims of improper licence issuance in Nadi outreach programmes

The Land Transport Authority has rejected allegations circulating on social media, claiming that driver licences were issued improperly during recent outreach programmes in the Nadi area.

LTA says the claims that licences were issued without proper testing, payment or legal procedures are false and unsubstantiated.

The Authority says all transactions during the outreach programmes were processed through official LTA systems and followed the same payment, testing and verification requirements used at LTA offices.

They says no outreach programme was carried out in Viseisei by the Nadi office, while the Momi outreach activities were coordinated through the Sigatoka team.

They say the approved outreach locations under the Nadi programme included Nawaka Village Hall, Moala Village Hall and Saunaka Village Hall, with another programme planned for Sabeto this month.

LTA also raised concerns about allegations made against an officer without evidence, saying people should use official complaint channels to report concerns.

Chief Executive Officer Irimaia Rokosawa says the Authority remains committed to transparency, accountability and maintaining proper standards of public service.
