Fijiana 7s thrashes Mermaids 42-0 in Coral Coast 7s opener

The Fijiana 7s side began their McDonald's Coral Coast Fiji 7s on a high note after thrashing Samoa's Manly Mermaids 42-0 in their first match this morning.

The Fijiana started strong, scoring three unanswered tries in the first half to lead 21-0.

They continued their dominance in the second half, not giving their opponent any chance to score.

Meanwhile, the two Chinese women's teams also got off to a good start as China 2 defeated Briars 17-7 and China 1 beat Lillian Amazon 26-17.

Coming up next is the Youth Division, with Birdland Brothers facing Village Boys on Ground 1 and Aqua Pro Savuiqali taking on Sunnybank Dragons on Ground 2.

The Coral Coast Fiji 7s is underway at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
