Bula FC goalkeeper Matthew Foord is excited to play at his home ground for the first time when the team faces their OFC Pro League opener at Auckland’s Eden Park this Saturday at 2pm.

Foord has been part of clubs including Waimak United, Christchurch United, Cashmere Technical, and most recently the Wellington Phoenix Reserves.

Foord has represented New Zealand at the OFC U17 Qualifiers in 2023, where he played a crucial role in the team’s championship run.

He went on to feature at the FIFA U17 World Cup, and later gained experience at the U20 Invitational Cup, further cementing his reputation as one of New Zealand’s brightest young goalkeeping prospects.

Foord stresses that it will be nice to be back home, saying it will be a good competition on his home ground.

He adds that the entire team is training tirelessly, focusing on what improvements can be made for the season and the opening match.

Foord says the team culture is looking good, which he believes will translate into strong performances on the field.

He shared that while the first two weeks were challenging in terms of adjustment, the team is now settling well into training and adapting to the weather.

Foord also expresses his gratitude to all the fans for their continued support towards the Bula FC team.

Bula FC will take on Vanuatu United FC in OFC Professional League's first match at 2pm this Saturday at Eden Park.
