The British Army 7s team held a scrimmaging session with the Fiji Men’s 7s side as they prepare for the McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s, which starts tomorrow.

Director of Rugby for the Army 7s programme, Lieutenant Colonel Jon Lord, says the scrimmaging session was a special opportunity for them going toe-to-toe with the Fiji 7s, and it really tested their skills while helping hone their attitude and mindset.

He says preparations have been going well, as they also held a session at the Sigatoka Sand Dunes.

Lieutenant Colonel Lord adds that the Sand Dunes gave the players a real taste of the Fijian team’s path to success.

He highlighted that they are here to win, but he has told the players to remain humble, maintain a positive mindset, and believe in themselves.

He adds that if they do that, they will surprise most teams.

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Head Coach, Osea Kolinisau says the selection door is also open for the British Army Fijian 7s players for the national team.

The British Army 7s side is in Pool E with Japan SDS, Drua 7s, and Yaro Chiefs.

The Coral Coast Fiji 7s will be held from tomorrow to Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
