Women fight hidden battles and they should not be hidden at all times.

These are the comments of Co-Founder of Rise Beyond the Reef, Semi Lotawa when asked by fijivillage News on the initial purpose of the setting up of their organization.

Lotawa says their focus was to address the issues faced by women concerning their health, gender-based issues and children.

He says the first step they take when they go to any community is to do radical listening, by allowing women to share how they articulate their needs.

Lotawa says the organization always buys goods from women in remote areas.

He further says that the main challenges faced by women is that they want to earn their income.

The non-profit organization started in 2014.
