SODELPA MP Mosese Bulitavu says it is important that we support the motion which seeks to amend the government guarantee period to Fiji Airways because this will allow people to get employed when our borders open again.

Bulitavu says his views are very clear that Fiji Airways will play a critical role in our economic recovery along with trade and tourism.

He says the loan includes liquidity support facility to help the airline cover operating cost and meet financial obligations and they need to ensure that Fiji Airways is ready so that we are able to recover quickly when everything is normal.

He says as leaders they have to make important decisions and sometimes they have to bite the bullet in order to make tough decisions which takes us into the future.

Bulitavu says what we need to do now is to give confidence to the financiers through this guarantee so that the industry is protected.

He says the people who have lost their employment are also praying that one day they can go back to work again.
