Minister for Commerce and Trade Faiyaz Koya and Fiji Airways CEO Andrè Viljoen.

Minister for Commerce and Trade Faiyaz Koya says we must do anything and everything at all cost to protect our airlines.

While supporting the motion to amend the Government guarantee period for Fiji Airways loans, Koya says they would not have had the support of their financiers if Fiji and Fiji Airways did not have a phenomenal reputation.

Koya further says when international borders open, countries will no doubt turn to their national carriers to bring in economic activity in the country.

He adds supporting Fiji Airways is essential in the long term recovery and that the airline is the mainstay of our tourism industry.
