Wallabies names 5 Fijians in squad to face Wales in do-or-die clash

The Wallabies have named 5 players with links to Fiji in their match-day squad that will take on Wales in their Pool C crunch match tomorrow morning.

Rob Valetini, Marika Koroibete, Samu Kerevi and Mark Nawaqanitawase all retain their spots in the starting XV from the team that lost to the Fiji Water Flying Fijians last week with former Melbourne Storm Winger Suliasi Vunivalu starting off the bench again.

Halfback Isaac Fines-Leleiwasa has been rested from the match day 23 with Tate McDermott starting at halfback moving Nic White to the bench.

The Wallabies will need a bonus point win in this match to try and open up the race in Pool C for a quarter final spot at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

The Wallabies will take on Wales at 7am tomorrow in Lyon.

The Wallabies starting XV:

Angus Bell, David Porecki, James Slipper, Nick Frost, Richie Arnold, Rob Leota, Tom Hooper, Rob Valetini, Tate McDermott, Ben Donaldson, Marika Koroibete, Samu Kerevi, Jordan Petaia, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Andrew Kellaway.

Replacement:

Matt Fassler, Blake Schoup, Pone Fa’amausili, Matt Philip, Fraser McReight, Nic White, Carter Gordon and Suliasi Vunivalu.

Meanwhile, in other RWC matches that were played this morning, Portugal held Georgia to an 18-all draw, England demolished Chile 71-0 and Ireland overcame World Champions South Africa 13-8.
