Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation has handed over $42,000 worth of mobility devices like wheelchairs and crutches to CWM Hospital Board of Visitors.
Foundations Director Arun Narsey said they are aware that the needs of the community are growing due to NCDs and they are more than happy to be able to provide support in areas that matter most.
He said since the inception in 2004, the Vodafone ATH Foundation has provided grant of $18M.
Meanwhile, according to Ministry of Health 2008 statistics, 82% of the people die between the ages of 35 to 59 and many also acquire some sort of disability before they die.
