University students to participate in Youth Leadership Contest next month

24 Students from Fiji’s three universities will participate in the Youth Leadership Contest that will be held on the 16th of next month at USP .

India Fiji Friendship Forum Vice President, Pinaki Acharya says there will be 12 teams, with 4 teams from each university.

Each team will have 2 members.

Acharya says there will be 2 rounds of quiz where the first round is called the Mission round and the second round is the Commitment round.

He says based on the scores, top 6 teams will proceed to the final.

The Vice President says they are working closely with the High Commission of India in Fiji to enhance the traditional and cultural values shared between India and Fiji and preserve the historical legacy that the people of the two countries share.

Meanwhile, Indian High Commissioner for Fiji, Palaniswamy Subramanyan Karthigeyan says that we need to work together with everyone for prosperity and that can only happen if we share our knowledge with others.

Karthigeyan says we need to target our youths because they are our future leaders.

The students in winning team will get a laptop each while the runners up get a tablet each.
