The USP Lautoka Campus has launched its caregiving course, in light of the need to increase the number of skilled caregivers and improve the quality of care they provide.

USP Lautoka Campus Interim Director, Ruby Vaa said there is a need to have such a course in the South Pacific region, including Samoa, where people care for the elderly, sick and disabled.

Vaa said the "Caregiving Fundamentals" course is designed to address needs for such demands and is available to those wishing to learn more about caregiving, especially those already caring for their family and friends, or those interested in a career as a caregiver.

Vaa adds it is a very practical and basic course and it is no secret that as our society changes and ages, a demand for caring, loving, informed and skilled caregiving is also growing.
