The Tropical Depression that was located to the far West North West of Fiji has intensified and is now Category 1 Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
The Nadi Weather Office says Cyclone Yasa was located about 540 kilometres West North West of Viwa at 3am today and is moving South South West at about 11 kilometres per hour.
Forecasters say from tomorrow the cyclone is expected to track South South East towards Fiji however it is anticipated at this stage to still stay far West of us.
Expect winds to pick up from later today.
The weather is expected to deteriorate from Wednesday with a lot of rain, especially in the western half of the country.
