Applications for the 2023 Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service open on December 2nd.

Permanent Secretary for Education Doctor Anjeela Jokhan says students are encouraged to apply after the TSLS announced a total of 1,200 scholarships will be provided next year with an increase of 8,000 for the 2023 Study Loans.

The Permanent Secretary for Education highlighted this after she officially opened the Principals and Career Teachers Workshop and also launched the TSLS Community Awareness Handbook 2023 at St Joseph’s Secondary School yesterday.

While launching the workshop and the book, Doctor Jokhan reiterated that the workshop aims to empower and provide information on the various scholarships and study loan schemes for the 2023 academic year.

She says the TELS program is a crucial component of the Government's initiative to ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to education.

She says as recently highlighted by the Prime Minister during the TSLS headquarters opening, it is also a promise to all Fijians that education is for everyone who qualifies.

She adds that it's a message to every Fijian that there are no restrictions based on ethnicity, religious background and financial limitation.

Doctor Jokhan says $4 billion has been invested in TSLS scholarships over the past nine years, building the lives and dreams of more than 56,000 Fijians.

Meanwhile, TSLS CEO Dr Hasmukh Lal says they have reinstated the National Toppers Overseas scholarships for their 2023 program.
