Suva Retailers Association President Jitesh Patel.

Suva Retailers Association President Jitesh Patel is encouraging businesses in Suva to put up promotions and colours in their shops to bring back the spirit of Christmas Suva is known for.

While officiating at the Suva Retailers Association Christmas Cocktail, Patel says they understand that it has been a challenging year for businesses, however, he believes it is through the grace of God they made it through.

He says this Christmas, people must never forget those they lost and those who lost their loved ones to the pandemic.

He adds despite the hardships, they continue to grow stronger and he is grateful to all retailers who were able to support a number of their activities despite their own personal and business challenges.

The Association President says through this support, they were able to donate 100,000 masks, 3,000 bottle sanitisers, 15,000 grocery packs and refreshments distributed to families during the lockdown and frontliners and 12 ventilators to the Ministry of Health.

He says their membership has also grown with about 175 members and this number continues to rise.

Patel says with the Christmas season nearing, they are looking to all businesses and members to uplift the Christmas spirit in Suva.
