Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says students cannot learn well and teachers cannot give adequate attention to each student if students are crowded in a classroom.

While speaking at the opening of a new four classroom block at the Rampur Primary School in Navua today, Bainimarama stated that he understands the frustration of a teacher who teaches in a crowded classroom.

Bainimarama also stressed to the students of Rampur Primary School to always remember the teachings of their parents and teachers and to apply them in their daily life.

There are 898 students at Rampur Primary School.

The Prime Minister says the new four classroom block at the school will reduce classroom crowding and help improve the quality of education.

John MacDonald of R.C Macdonald from New Zealand contributed $27,000 to top up the $290,000 provided by government for this project.

MacDonald says following the earthquakes in New Zealand, they witnessed support in many ways from people around the World.

He says this experience inspired their family and company to identify a worthy cause in Fiji following the devastation caused by Cyclone Winston last year.
