The biggest upset of the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s today exposed the weakness of the Ben Gollings coached Fiji Barbarians side when they lost to Saunaka 14-7 in a pulsating match.

Nadi based Saunaka matched the physicality of the Fiji Barbarians and led the game at half time with a try from block busting winger Josese Rokoua.

Gollings unleashed his veterans in the second spell with Josua Vakurunabili, Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Josefa Talacolo who broke the Saunaka defence and allowed winger Ropate Rere to cross the white line and score the only point for the Barbarians.

In other results, the Ambassador All Stars team who have players like the Beast Semi Kunatani, South African Kyle Brown, Viliame Satala Jnr, Woody Gollings and Renata Roberts lost to Ravuka Sharks 24-12, and are out of contention for the Cup quarter final.

Devo Babas defeated New Zealand Development 28-19.

The main Cup quarter finals will start at 6.15 tonight.
