Samuela Bokadi who attacked his partner and police officers found guilty of all charges

High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar has found Samuela Bokadi guilty of all charges against him.

Bokadi is charged with 6 counts of act with intent to cause grievous harm involving his partner and police officers and five counts of resisting arrest. He had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of damaging property.

Bokadi had threatened his partner who then ran to the Delainavesi Police Post to ask for assistance in July 2018.

Justice Goundar says he finds Bokadi engaged in extreme aggression towards his partner using the cane knife despite numerous calls by his father and police officers to put down the weapon.

Justice Goundar says Bokadi threatened to kill police officers when they confronted him.

The Judge adds that Bokadi's claim that he armed himself as he was afraid of his father is not plausible.

He says that Bokadi's own conduct shows that he intended to cause serious harm to his partner and the officers who came to her rescue.

Justice Goundar further says if this incident would have happened in a western country, they would have classified it as domestic terror.

The Judge has also asked that a psychiatric evaluation be done of Bokadi.

The case has been adjourned to the 3rd of next month.

Bokadi has been further remanded in custody.
