A food drive will be held at Cost U Less from 9 am to 3 pm this Saturday by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Fiji.

Apart from food items, they are also in need of basic cleaning supplies for shelter animals as things have been tough due to COVID-19.

SPCA Fiji Clinic and Shelter Manager, Shaneel Narayan says they are planning to do regular food drives as donations have been on hold due to COVID-19.

He says their funding as well has been tight.

Narayan says all animal shelters are struggling at the moment and people should consider donating to their local shelter if they have more than enough.

These are the list of things which is used daily in the SPCA Fiji shelter and clinic;

- Bleach (Janola) - Rice - Tin Fish (possible in oil or can also use tomato sauce ) - Liquid dishwashing detergent - Soap Powder - Dog Biscuits (Pedigree or chum) - Whiskas - Split peas - Liquid milk - Mop (head and handle) - Scrubbing Brush - Mop Bucket - Paper towel - Newspaper - Liquid handwash - Garbage Bag - Dishwashing paste
