As the victorious Vodafone Fiji 7s team arrives today, Coach Ben Ryan in an interview with World Rugby says the Rio 7's tournament went according to plan as they won all six games.

Ryan says when they got in the Games Village, they stayed very tight as a team, took out all distractions, minimized all possible interruptions to their program and he thinks they did it better than any other team.

Ryan says phones were shut down and locked away and they concentrated on the task at hand and they delivered.

He also talked about the teams that Fiji played on their way to the historic gold win and adds in the final, Fiji played the best game of the year.

Ryan adds the way Great Britain, Japan and New Zealand defend is similar and they almost had a practice run going into the final.

He also talked about how they wanted to play in the final.

He says they knew they had to be relaxed, they had to rest and find opportunities.

The Team Fiji contingent from Rio is expected to arrive at Nadi International Airport just after midday today.

The first welcome celebration will take place at Prince Charles Park.

People are requested not to wait for the team at the airport as they will get off the plane and get on a bus to make their way to Prince Charles Park.

The team will not come out of the main door of the airport.

The team bus will go through Votualevu roundabout to Namaka, Namotomoto village and go straight to Prince Charles Park.

A traditional welcome ceremony will be carried out by the people of Sabeto and an inter-faith thanksgiving service will also take place in Nadi.

There is time allocated for families and fans to meet the players.

The team will then depart Prince Charles Park at about 4 to 4.30pm today.

They will then board the flight from Nadi Airport to come to Nausori.

Only our gold medal winning Fiji 7s team will come along Kings Road from Nausori to Suva this afternoon.

They will leave Nausori Airport at about 5.45 today.

The 7s team will stay at GPH for the night.

On the special 7s victory holiday tomorrow, the Olympic Gold Medal victory celebrations will be held at the ANZ Stadium.

The stadium gates will open at 8.30am.

Our gold medal winning team will leave in a vehicle from GPH in a march in a convoy with a band accompanying them at 9.30am tomorrow.

This will start from the Suva Flea Market, through to Victoria Parade, turn left at Thurston Street, on to McGregor Road, Bau Street, then to Laucala Bay Road and to the ANZ Stadium.
