The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro says schools now have full control over how their funds are used, allowing them to focus on their priorities, however, he reminded them of the importance of transparency and accountability with proper spending guidelines and regular audits in place.
Radrodro stressed this during the opening of the 2025 Fundraising Carnival and Groundbreaking Ceremony at Nadi Muslim College.
He acknowledged the school’s continued growth and praised the community’s commitment to improving education facilities.
The event marked a major milestone in the school’s efforts to raise funds for the construction of a new school hall.
Over $192,000 has already been raised and the College is now aiming to raise a further $100,000 to move to the next phase of the project.
The Minister also appreciated the unity and dedication of parents, teachers, alumni and the broader Nadi Muslim community, saying it reflects the true spirit of progress and the value of investing in education.
Radrodro says students must take their education seriously and reminded parents to remain involved in their children’s learning journey.
He acknowledged the leadership of Nadi Muslim College and the Fiji Muslim League for their longstanding contribution.
